Your application is deployed on Elastic Beanstalk and you manage the configuration of the stack using a CloudFormation template. A new golden AMI is created every week and contains a hardened AMI that has all the necessary recent security patches. You have deployed over 100 applications using CloudFormation & Beanstalk this way and you would like to ensure the newer AMI used for EC2 instances is updated every week.
